The first PLM activities at Ege University were initiated in 2012 after the meeting held with international company executives and academicians who are the leaders in their fields.
In this context PLM workshop, supported by TÜBİTAK within the scope of "2014 Turkish-German Education, Research and Science Year" 2223-D Cooperation and Event Organization Support Related to Priority Areas, was held in İzmir on 13-14 November 2014.
One of the important outputs of the workshop was the establishment of a “Research and Application Center on Product Lifecycle Management” at Ege University. The aim of the center is to support engineering education and industry in the field of PLM.
With the Official Gazette publication dated April 3, 2015, Turkey's first PLM center was established within the Ege University.
The project “Raising Awareness on Product Lifecycle Management via Education and Industrial Strategic Collaboration within Europe” (RAPROMISE) funded by the European Union Erasmus + Program was accepted on September 1, 2015.
EGE PLM “Product Lifecycle Management Excellence Research and Application Center” was established on September 4, 2015.
